April Durrant, a 3rd generation veteran having served on active duty in the medical field, worked an assignment with the Defense Intelligence Agency and was deployed after 9/11. After a long career in the military including assignments throughout the world, April wanted to find a post-military career to provide financial stability along with the flexibility to raise her family. While working as auditor & liaison with Delta Air Lines.

April discovered her passion for creating solutions and problem solving, incorporating multiple perspectives, and working with the status quo to design better solutions. This led her to pursue a master’s degree in leadership and organizational development and ultimately to the desire to found her own company. She was able to connect with the San Diego & Imperial SBDC Network to help start her business and take it to the next level. With the help of the SBDC, she formed Integrated Perspectives Consulting, a Disabled Veteran-Owned company, that helps organizations develop, heal, and evolve.

“The SBDC helped me create my legal entity, obtain certifications, receive a $5,000 grant, and win a government contract with the State of California. They also encouraged and supported my growth into new markets including several municipalities and counties throughout the State of California,” she said.

“I couldn’t have imagined growing to where we are today, and the SBDC’s support was a significant factor.”
